Jason Nicks, a native Texan, has spent his entire legal career in the great state of Texas. Jason attended Texas A&M University and received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 2003. He then enrolled at Louisiana State University School of Law and graduated with two law degrees, a Juris Doctorate and a Bachelor of Civil Law in 2006.
Reputation in Court for Favorable Outcomes
Jason was hired by the Midland County District Attorney’s Office and quickly became known for his reputation of receiving favorable jury verdicts at trials at the misdemeanor level. For a FREE, same-day consultation, call The Law Office of Jason Nicks at (409) 228-2600. Within 11 months, Jason was promoted to prosecute felonies with the Midland County District Attorney’s Office. With over 30 jury trials in a little over 3 years as a prosecutor, Jason was fortunate to try cases with and against some of the best attorneys in the state of Texas.
He assisted in the DWI training for local police officers in Midland County, which included courtroom testimony, and created the “Jason Nicks DWI Trial Manual,” which is a trial notebook specifically for prosecutors to use in DWI trials, and also contains a testimony preparation packet for police officers. Jason also assisted in the training and development of new assistant prosecutors joining the office, specifically in the area of DWI.
In late 2009, Jason won an extremely difficult felony DWI case against a quality defense attorney and word had already been quietly spreading to private firms for months about Jason’s nearly two-year jury trial winning streak, as well as his innovative courtroom demonstrations. Due to his trial skills, a private firm in Midland was deeply impressed and quickly hired Jason away from the prosecutor’s office.
After joining the Midland firm, Jason handled civil litigation cases focusing on insurance defense and oil and gas. A few months into the new job, a friend of another lawyer was arrested in Midland for Interfering with the Duties of a Public Servant. Jason was asked to look at the case and aggressively worked to have the case dismissed. Two weeks later, the case was dismissed. Jason, realizing that a criminal courtroom was where he belonged, moved back to his hometown of Beaumont to open up his own law practice with a strong focus on DWI defense.
Through many trials, seminars, and continuing education classes, Jason has sharpened his DWI defense skills. Jason Nicks is now an attorney in Beaumont, TX
